It was likely one of the last Wii U games yet to be transferred to the Nintendo Switch, but that is now a reality: Xenoblade Chronicles X will arrive on the Japanese manufacturer’s hybrid console on March 20, 2025. This announcement coincides with the game’s 10th anniversary, originally released on Wii U in 2015 and which had not allowed the game to fully demonstrate its potential due to limitations of the technology at that time. It is presumed that this switch will remedy these issues and enable players to immerse themselves in the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of year 2054, a period when humanity fled Earth following an intergalactic war. Players will take on the role of a member of the New Los Angeles (NLA) colony, tasked with contributing to the reconstruction of a new home on Mira, a vast and hostile planet. It is within this expansive open-world environment spanning five captivating continents that players must fight for humanity’s future.
