Released on July 19th, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess demonstrates Capcom’s ability to create original games alongside Resident Evil episodes and quality remakes of classic franchises. An action-strategy game heavily influenced by Tower Defense, steeped in Japanese folklore where Yokai are prominent, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess has attracted many players. According to figures provided by Capcom, no fewer than 500,000 players have been drawn to the game. However, it is important not to equate this with sales, as the game was available on Game Pass from day one, naturally increasing the number of curious players. It remains unclear how many completed the adventure and how many abandoned it after the first boss.
To celebrate these positive figures, Capcom is offering free DLC that includes three previously unreleased Mazo Talismans, one of which is a collaboration with Okami:
Mazo Talisman: Benkei – Once this talisman is equipped, villagers near Soh perform an enchanted dance. Mazo Talisman: Crane Dance – Transforms Soh’s normal attacks into an enchanting dance accompanied by fireworks. Mazo Talisman: Amaterasu – With this talisman, brilliant flowers bloom under Soh’s feet as he moves.
In addition to these unique gifts, a title update is now available for all players. This update includes a new sorting feature for the Mazo Talismans equipment screen, as well as minor bug fixes.
