Summer is in full swing, and July vacationers are already sunbathing on the beaches of Le Touquet and Dunkirk. Devolver Digital has chosen this moment to announce Forestrike, an action game featuring kung-fu elements developed by Skeleton Crew. Players will take on the role of Yu, a martial artist tasked with liberating his country from an evil admiral. While the storyline may be secondary, the gameplay and its mechanics are captivating, focusing on discovering the right techniques to combat enemies with precise rhythm. Essentially, it is akin to a stuntman mastering a flawless choreography. The game’s ingenuity lies in offering multiple perfect movement sequences for victory rather than just one. This concept is realized through Foresight, a meditative technique that allows players to replay fights infinitely until the ideal sequence is achieved. Once mastered, Yu must apply this knowledge while adhering to the “die & retry” gameplay mechanics. Forestrike is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC and Nintendo Switch, with no additional details provided at this time.
