The franchise that reached its peak in the 2000s, Delta Force, is set to make a powerful return in 2024, driven by Chinese gaming giant Tencent Games. The company has tasked TiMi Studios and Team Jade with reviving the license to attract as many first-person shooter (FPS) players as possible. Initially, there will be a solo campaign that draws inspiration from Ridley Scott’s film “Black Hawk Down” (The Fall of the Eagle), recreating the rescue of Americans in Mogadishu and tracing the conflict of the Somali civil war in 1993. Additionally, players can look forward to competitive FPS modes similar to Battlefield, featuring team-based gameplay with 16v16 matches, primary and secondary weapons, gadgets, and various grenades for battlefield use. Different Operators will be available, each with unique combat traits; for example, Luna wields a bow that fires electric arrows causing damage over time and reconnaissance arrows that reveal enemies on her path.
Delta Force: Hawk Ops will adopt a free-to-play business model, leveraging Unreal Engine 5 to ensure technical excellence and provide high-end graphics. In summary, the game is designed to attract a large player base, with PC release scheduled for next July. Versions for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, and Xbox One are also planned but will be released at a later date.
