One year after the release of Final Fantasy XVI, the game continues to make waves with its bold, action-oriented gameplay designed for a wider audience. Square Enix is set to release a solo DLC titled “The Rising Tide (La complainte du Ressac)” on April 18, 2024. This additional content was announced at PAX East 2024 and includes new story elements, supplementary side quests, additional weapons, previously unrevealed accessories, and an increased maximum level cap. Players will have the chance to interact with Clive as he aids the Messenger of Leviathan, a Primordial thought to be missing. The DLC also invites exploration of Mysidia, a hidden land, and delves into the poignant history of its forgotten inhabitants.
On the same day, a free update (Version 1.30) will be available for Final Fantasy XVI, providing enhancements to the experience and addressing certain bugs.
The ability to immediately return to quest-giving characters is now possible with the new “Quick Quest Return” feature. Important character quest icons have been modified, along with a new option allowing players to set up to five favorite Primordial/skill settings. Additionally, skills and accessories have been adjusted for easier use. A new custom controller configuration type has been introduced, enabling each free button to be individually assigned. The photo mode now includes color and visual effect corrections as well as other enhancements. Numerous new partitions have also been added.
