The Last of Us 2 Remastered Documentary to Address Naughty Dog’s Choices, Pandemic Impact, and Leaks

In one week, players will have the opportunity to return to Seattle and experience the dramatic events surrounding “The Last of Us Part 2” with this PS5-specific remaster. Beyond the anticipated technical enhancements (native 4K display, 60fps), Naughty Dog has included a range of unreleased bonuses, such as the addition of a Roguelike mode called “No Return,” the ability to freely play guitar alongside Ellie, Joel, and Gustavo Santaolalla, the game’s music composer, reinstatement of content removed from the final version, and various behind-the-scenes elements related to the game’s production. This is why the California studio has released today a trailer for “Grounded 2,” a documentary that will chronicle the entire development process of this sequel, which has been both praised and criticized due to its narrative choices. The video reveals that these topics will be covered in the documentary, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and a significant leak following a hack on the game’s development. While the release date for “Grounded 2” is not yet confirmed, it is expected to precede the launch of “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered,” scheduled for January 19, 2024.
