Did you miss the closed beta for The Finals in March of last month? There’s no need to worry, as Embark Studios has announced an open beta scheduled to begin on October 26th and conclude on November 5th. This period will provide ample opportunity to familiarize yourself with this high-speed first-person shooter and its team-based gameplay, which also incorporates environmental destruction. Nearly every environment within the game can be destroyed, from basic doors to entire buildings, including walls, roofs, and floors, enabling players to cause significant damage to the map almost immediately. The Finals takes this concept further by allowing sections of buildings to collapse, thus altering the level design in real-time. This feature creates dynamic combat zones, new cover spots, or worst-case scenarios such as dead ends that can become perilous when being pursued. Rest assured, no game session will ever be identical due to these environments responding uniquely to different team strategies and character classes chosen.
This open beta will introduce the new arena “Skyway Stadium” into the map rotation, along with a brand new game mode: Bank-It. The beta also includes a free BattlePass featuring 16 exclusive and permanent rewards that players can unlock and retain until the official game launch. This beta is cross-play compatible, and progression will be saved to your account regardless of whether you are playing on PC or Consoles. The goal of this open beta is to test improvements and changes made during previous PC trials. This event will also allow for large-scale testing of the server infrastructure and in-game management system, ensuring that the team can swiftly deliver patches and updates across all platforms while gathering feedback on the console and controller gaming experience.
