In August last year, Microids announced a visit by a Chinese delegation at its premises. The delegation consisted of 23 people from various organizations including the Department of Advertising of the CCP Central Committee, the Chinese Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association, China National Publications Beijing Book, as well as representatives from Chinese gaming companies. Recognizing the growing importance of the Chinese market for the future of video games, Microids has sought to capitalize on this opportunity by announcing an enhanced collaboration with Bilibili Games, the video game division of the popular Chinese video platform often referred to as “Chinese YouTube”. Following their initial partnership in 2022 on the F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch game, where Microids was responsible for creating special physical editions and distributing console versions internationally, both companies are now set to work together again on an undisclosed new project. Wenbin Zang, the Microids Representative in China, notes, “Following F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch, our next collaboration with Bilibili Games also focuses on a game highlighting Chinese culture. We hope that more high-quality Chinese games will gain recognition from players worldwide through Microids.” Yan YU, Vice General Manager of the Game Publishing Center at Bilibili, adds, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Microids for the second time in bringing another game to consoles. Both parties have carried out numerous optimizations, particularly in localization and voice-over to cater to global players’ needs. We’re all eager to unveil this action rogue-lite game that showcases the charm of Chinese martial arts culture for players around the world.”
Lastly, it is learned that this new game will be announced on September 29th.
